Year 10 UNSW Sydney Gateway Program experience

Year 10 Granville Boys High School students at the UNSW Sydney Gateway Program

On Monday 8 April, Year 10 Granville Boys High School students went with their Year Advisor, Miss Zeidan to the University of New South Wales to take part in the UNSW Sydney Gateway Program.

They participated in activities to learn about the value of tertiary education, and spoke to UNSW Ambassadors and UNSW aLUMNI (past graduates) about the different university courses on offer, to help prepare them for their subject selection in Year 11 and 12. Students got great advice and found it engaging.

The UNSW Gateway Program

The Gateway Program is for students who want to discover UNSW degree options, explore future career opportunities and access additional resources for the HSC. Participating in the Gateway Program also provides critical support to receive an early offer to UNSW through the Gateway Admission Pathway.

What does the program offer?

Students get to:

  • Discover how their interests and aptitudes align with UNSW degrees and careers and reflect on their learning strengths.
  • Enhance communication skills with dramatic techniques.
  • Engage in small group self-reflective writing workshops.
  • Be inspired by different perspectives, career trajectories and experiences of University Ambassadors and UNSW Alumni.
