In December, Year 10 students from Granville Boys High School had the opportunity to partake in an immersive tech industry experience at Amazon’s main Sydney office on Market Street.
Throughout the day, the boys saw and heard first-hand what it was like to work for one of the world’s biggest multinational tech companies. They teamed up with a range of industry professionals from various departments within Amazon to discuss the career paths that led them to success. They were surprised to find that they were not always ‘straight’, but often ‘winding’, taking in varied and interesting life experiences along the way.
The students gained practical industry experience working on a creative, problem-solving project, which they then presented at the end of the day.
One crucial takeaway from day was realising the importance of human creativity in a future of AI emerging technologies and changing job markets.
