Granville Boys High School Robotics class spend day at Ausdiagnostics

Granville Boys High School Yr 9 and 10 Robotics elective class spent a day at AusDiagnostics headquarters in Sydney on Thursday 14 September. Students were provided with a hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art Research & Development Engineering Workshop, looking at laboratory robots and their important role in medical engineering.

The boys heard from multi-skilled engineers across various departments on their journey and unique opportunities that led them to where they are today. The boys walked away with their very own limited edition AusDiagnostics tool kit to keep the engineering spark alive. Find out more here.

So, how did this collaboration come about?

The CEO of AusDiagnostics Scott Gilroy connected with our school after hearing Mr N. Dixon discuss the success of our Robotics program on Ben Fordham Live on 2GB Breakfast, and invited us over to experience AusDiagnostics’ production site out in Mascot.

AusDiagnostics Head of Production Ahmad Kowaider, who happens to be a proud Granville Boys High School alumni (class of 1992), really looked after the students on the day. AusDiagnostics have agreed to sponsor the Granbots in the FIRST Robotics Competition as a part of their ‘From High School to Where?’ series initiative.

“This is just the beginning; we can’t wait to continue shining a light on our ‘From High School to Where’ series, supporting and enriching the next generation of STEM enthusiasts,” Nadine Jones, AusDiagnostics Human Resources & Work Health and Safety Manager.
