The study of Mathematics is mandatory from Kindergarten to Year 10.
By studying mathematics, students learn to work mathematically, developing fluency, understanding, problem-solving, reasoning and communication skills. Students develop understanding and fluency by exploring and connecting mathematical concepts, choosing and applying mathematical techniques to solve problems and communicating their thinking and reasoning clearly.
Students develop essential numeracy skills and fluency, while nurturing the ability to think logically, critically and creatively.
