Current student studies

Time is fast approaching when the year 12 students will sit for their higher school certirfticate (HSC) examination. They have one more assessment task to do in term 3. This task is worth 20% of their course work. For students to do well in the HSC examination, they must embark on a study routine to improve their ability to recall and apply knowledge when needed. All year 12 students must prepare thoroughly for their upcoming assessment task and the HSC examination.  It is very important to revise by doing questions from past exam papers because mathematical skills can only be refined by regular practice. Maths is a "doing" subject and the more a student practices the better developed his skills become.

To help prepare students for the HSC exam, teachers have HSC tutorials for interested general maths students after school on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The lessons are free and taken by Mr Hoang who has given up his valuable time to support students in their exam preparation. All students who wish to benefit from this endeavour are welcome to attend. The Maths faculty has a stock of excel Year 12 general mathematics books that are excellent for topic by topic revision. It has material from both preliminary and HSC courses. Students can buy these books by paying $30 to the front office. The receipt must then be presented to a staff member in the maths staffroom to collect the book.
